Brief Description

To work individually and as part of a team, supporting the service manager to ensure the smooth running of the service and to ensure that the people we support are provided with a
safe, caring and stable environment. This is a fantastic oppurtunity to start or develop your career within the Care sector.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualification)

About the Role

Ellsworth House in Midsomer Norton, Somerset provides a residential service for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours which others may find challenging. With a homely, friendly feel the team are caring and supportive and very creative in how they support the people that live there.

The focus is very much on inclusion, building friendships and enjoying interests. Individuals are involved in monthly residents meetings and recruitment and are actively involved in the running of the home. They are supported to live as independently as possible by developing their daily living skills such as washing and shopping and often enjoy cooking for others. They are supported in managing their finances and making daily decisions about their life and their choices.

You’ll be responsible for supporting an inclusive lifestyle within the community as individuals attend local colleges or day trips out. Develop greater independence and daily living skills by assisting with the upkeep of the service, preparing meals, shopping and domestic duties. Providing help with personal care such as washing, bathing and dressing whilst working across various shift patterns including early, late and weekend and night shifts.
