Brief Description

To work as part of a pharmacy team under the supervision of the registered Pharmacist and to ensure an accurate, timely, high quality dispensary / counter service is provided to our customers in a caring, friendly, and professional manner. You will be working towards completing a level 2 in retail plus additional qualifications for dispensing.

Qualifications Required

We have had apprentices progress to as far as Accuracy Checking Technician level.

Vacancy Detail

You will complete the following:

Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship + 2 GPhC Accredited Courses delivered by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) ? Medicines Counter Assistant and Accredited Dispensing Assistant Course.

NPA Courses will commence around 8 weeks after you have been enrolled on the Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship. NPA Courses must be completed within the first 12 months of employment at the Pharmacy.

Your Retailer Level 2 Apprenticeship will be delivered by Qube Learning who are a National Training Provider. As a student within Qube Learning you will have a dedicated Skills Tutor who will visit you every 4 ? 6 weeks and deliver a bespoke teaching and learning session.

Your Apprenticeship Training Programme + NPA Courses should be completed in around 15 months. Functional Skills (Maths and English) may form part of your programme.

As part of our team you will need to be friendly and organised with a passion to provide excellent customer service. Building relationships with your customers is key and you?ll play an important part in meeting their unique healthcare needs.

Your main responsibilities will be ensuring the smooth running of the medicines counter and safely managing stock levels.

You will receive training to become confident when talking to our customers and providing healthcare advice and services at the counter. You?ll also assist with sales and general store duties including product displays and cash transactions.

As every day is different, you could find yourself getting involved with everything from acting as the first point of contact for customers, cashing up, managing high volume dispensing transactions, ordering repeat medications for customers to dealing with operational queries from GP surgeries.

You must be flexible to cover holiday and absences

The expected normal working week will be 40 hours working during the following opening hours
The pharmacy is open Mon - Fri 9.00am to 6.30pm. We can work around the ideal candidates ideal hours.
Slightly amended hours will be considered if needed.
